FAQs

Q.  When I should I register?

A. Classes often fill up quickly, so the sooner the better.

Q. What if the dates offered don't fit my schedule?

E-mail or call us to make a date request.  New classes are formed based on needs of the students.

Q.  What if we have a friend who wants to join the class at the last minute?

A. E-mail or call ASAP to check for openings in the class.

Q. How long is the class?

A.  It's a one day,  8 hour class that is high energy, fast paced, and highly interactive!

Q.  What preparations should wemake for the class?

A. Get a good nights sleep the night before, eat a good breakfast, dress comfortably (layers work best). No dangling jewelry, pull hair back or bring a hairband.  Don't forget to bring your sack lunch, drink with a lid,  and arrive on time

No need to bring a notebook or pen - this is provided.

Q. How many students are in the class?

A. Typically 8-16, but this varies with the ages of the participants.  The classes with younger students will have less students in them.

Q. What age do the kids have to be to take this class?

A.   Maturity is more important than age.  Most kids who take this class are rising  5th through 9th grade (and the summers surrounding those years).    Some of these kids are too young to babysit, but make GREAT mother's helpers, and can be left home alone for short periods of time. Some kids will never babysit, but you want to feel safer having them stay home alone.   This class will help prepare them for those times.

Q. Do Boys take the class?

A. DEFINITELY! and the have a GREAT TIME!!! We prefer not to have just 1 boy in a class (just so he doesn't feel uncomfortable), so to prevent that, we recommend he have a friend sign up with him, but there are often other boys already registered in most classes.  If your son does end up the only boy, you will be notified in advance just in case you want to reschedule, but when this happens, the single boy in the class usually LOVES it!  He is made to feel very important and comfortable.

Q. How do I register a group of kids and get the discount?

 A.  A "group" consists of 5 or more kids.  They do not need an official affiliation.  Register a "group" and receive a discount.  For complete details, please contact us at babysittiing101plus@yahoo.com .

Q.  After I register, then what?

A. About 5 days before the class you will receive an email with last minute details about the class.  If you have any questions in the meantime, contact us via email.

Q. Where is the class held?

A. The Class is held in a private home in Cumming Georgia.  This location offers the perfect setting for kids who are babysitting or staying home alone.  The class is held in the very open and airy finished terrace level.  (If this makes you uncomfortable in any way at all, we can provide you with hundreds of references to ease your concerns, or arrange a time for you to stop by and meet us)

Q. Do the parents stay?

A. No they do not.  Parents are asked to come in if they can when dropping off their kids, however, they are not required to do so. Upon pick up, parents may come in, or wait outside for their kids.
